Looking for easy healthy shakes, soups, and smoothies? You’ve no doubt heard of the NutriBullet…
This Nutribullet Review answers “Is the Nutribullet Worth it?”.

Green vegetable weight loss smoothie - Is The NutriBullet Worth It

Is the NutriBullet Worth It in 2020?

Over recent years, the NutriBullet has become a go-to appliance for those seeking a healthier diet and lifestyle. An electric blender most often used for making smoothies and juices, the NutriBullet 600 is easily the most classic.

It can also be used in cooking, such as to substitute a grinder, create nut butters, marinades, and more (we’ll see later). But, there remains the question for some: “Is the NutriBullet Worth It?”

No longer is it the main blender on the market. Since its launch, there have been Ninja Blenders, Lakeland, and so many more brands.

In this product review of the NutriBullet 600 Series (NBR-1201), we are going to be looking at the pros and cons, my personal experience, and seeing where it stands today…

A NutriBullet 600 Review – Does it Live up to its Name?

    • Overall Rating: 9/10
    • Price: £57.99
    • Best Place to Purchase: Amazon.co.uk
    • Customer Reviews: Very Positive
    • Guarantee: Amazon Return Policy
    • Material: BPA-free Plastic, Stainless Steel

What is the NutriBullet 600 Series?

The NutriBullet 600 Series is one of the earlier models released. Coming with multiple cup sizes, a versatile blade, and a resealable lid for freshness, it is still a very handy kitchen appliance.

It is an easy-to-use blender that works wonderfully with fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts, seeds, liquids, herbs, spices, you name it! Some of its uses include for:

  • Smoothies / Shakes
  • Juices
  • Soups
  • Pesto
  • (Nut) Butter
  • Nut Milk
  • Flour
  • Hummus and other marinades

The NutriBullet can make living and eating healthier much easier! When I first started using it, I was making a pineapple, ginger, and turmeric juice daily. I done this for the anti-inflammatory properties, but there are limitless possibilities to suit your goals.

For those who like to home-make their own ingredients, using a NutriBullet is one of the best ways to do so. The simple process allows you to create a wide array of foods, not just including those above.

Apart from saving time and labour – as you might imagine – it is design to be versatile.

At the same time, it’s not alone. There are many blenders out there, and certainly some great options.

Is the classic 600 model we’ll be speaking about here still relevant? And even more, is the NutriBullet worth it? Here’s my take.

PROS – Why it Might Just Be for You

Healthy Eating Is EASY!

The standard recommendation is that we get at least 5 servings of fruit and vegetables every day. The truth is that we should aim for more, and focus on the vegetables for nutrient-density and less sugar.

With a NutriBullet, these servings are easily achievable. This is one of the main benefits of having a blender of any type.

For example, it is great those looking to lose weight and cut out ready-meals and processed foods. Instead, you can make soups, smoothies, slaws, and dressings all in a very short time.

We’ll see many more uses later on, too.

Furthermore, it’s a brilliant way to make natural protein shakes for those looking to build themselves up!

You can get many of your daily nutrients in one serving this way. A blender extracts nutrition extremely well, and will also help you absorb them better. This is partially due to the liquids being easier to digest.

It can save you hassle if you:

  • Don’t find the time to chop up a salad.
  • Find yourself buying unhealthy high-sugar smoothies and milkshakes (on-the-go).
  • End up using chemical-packed protein powders (There are foods for that, too)!

As the most common example, here’s how to make your own shakes and smoothies using this blender:

  1. You add your favourite healthy ingredients, some ice, and a little milk (or substitute).
  2. Switch on  your NutriBullet 600 Series for about a minute or until the desired texture is reached
  3. Store, Serve, and Enjoy!

You can mix in a wide variety of blends. Dark chocolate, peanuts, kale, oats, and whatever else you fancy! (Remember to stick to whole foods, and avoid using high-sugar fruits often).

I recently made a nice and simple avocado nut smoothie. To try it yourself, view the recipe here (plus, discover why it’s good for your immune system, heart health, and more)!

It takes a only few minutes, is calorie-dense from healthy fats, and is bursting with nutrients. Ketogenic diets will benefit the most from this.

You can always change the ingredients, proportions, or even sweeten it a little with a handful of berries if you prefer.

Don’t miss out on the many easy recipes online, either! These cater for a wide range of diets. Here are some high-protein, ketogenic, and paleo smoothie recipes!

It’s Cheaper Than Alternatives

At a price of just over £57.99, the NutriBullet 600 Series is certainly a less costly option. Other similar blenders may go for upwards of £100. They may offer extra features, but for those who don’t need anything specialised and just want to start out, this model is ideal.

Really, the NutriBullet 600 Series is simple. And coming from one of the most trusted blender vendors (Definitely not a pun), you won’t be disappointed. As the NutriBullet was becoming a large brand, this was one of their most successful models.

So, a cheap price doesn’t always mean cheap quality. And as The Customer Reviews would reveal, it has certainly been worth the price for many (maybe more)!

When asking and answering your question “Is The NutriBullet Worth It?”, price has to come into it. Fortunately, it’s hard to complain. Now let’s take a peek at it’s efficiency and how it works.

It Get’s The Job Done

No doubt, this NutriBullet can carry out many tasks in the kitchen. This includes making anything from:

  • Juices
  • Nut butters
  • Flours
  • Sauces
  • Spice Blends
  • Pestos
  • Marinades
  • And more!

I have personally used this blender in many different ways. As said above, I use to make my “anti-inflammatory juice” daily. I’ve also used it to make almond milk and smoothies.

Once, it even made an effective oat base for a Christmas pumpkin pie! (The NutriBullet struggled to keep up here. This was because I made it too thick, however. We’ll review the power of the blender later.).

Looking at the overall ability of the blender, we should also address its durability as a kitchen appliance.

In any case, the 600 Series a good bet if you want something to last. Mine has worked for years, including for a family member before me!

With proper care and the right treatment, it should last you a while.

Easy Cleaning, No Mess, No Fuss

This one is a favourite. We all hate doing the dishes (well, most of us), and we all like saving time. For almost any purpose that the NutriBullet is used, it simply requires a quick rinse out with warm water and it can be put away ready for next time!

It’s a “use, rinse, put it back” scenario for the most part.

This beats having to use all different cutlery, or chopping boards, or pestle and mortars, etc. and having to then wash them all up.

Instead, there is an elegant convenience provided by using a single appliance which works with only a few pieces (including if you want to store your ingredients or recipes).

Freebies, Anyone?

So this one is just a little bonus, but I thought it was worth including anyway. When you buy the NutriBullet 600 Series you’ll also receive a pocket guide with recipes and the user manual.

It gives full instructions and useful recipe examples to make things easy.

Keep in mind to avoid high-sugar recipes though – including those with a lot of fruit. Do this especially if you plan to make the same thing regularly.

I also want you to know that you can buy additional blades and cup sizes. This includes blades specifically for milling, and cups with handles.

CONS – What Should You Consider?

The 600W Motor is Not the Strongest

That ‘600’ in the name may well stand for 600 Watts, because that’s what the blender is! (I figured that out myself! *Clears throat*, anyway…)

Without a doubt, 600W proves powerful for its general purpose.

However, this still isn’t the most powerful blender out there. Simply, there are higher rated motors. For a better performing blender, such as if you intend to use it for a lot of heavy tasks, there are better options.

Whilst the NutriBullet 600 Series is effective in most of your kitchen applications, it’ll find the heavier tasks (like flour making, or blending thick substances like nut butters) difficult. Also, it might not create all ingredients with a prime texture as easily.

The NutriBullet’s newer models, such as the Smart, High-Class 1200 Series (Take a Look) have a higher wattage. They also provide a larger accessory set and therefore can potentially be more practical for some people.

There is a lower chance of these blenders burning-out or struggling in the long-run.

I haven’t personally found this to be a major problem, but if you are looking to use your blender a lot and for many different tasks, then these might be better choices.

So, in terms of power: is the NutriBullet worth it? I’d say so for most people, but there are higher power options available.

No Volume Button… (Okay, It’s Just Loud)

Whilst a volume button isn’t exactly possible, this blender could have been designed to be quieter.

For most people and purposes it should be completely fine. The main considerations I’d take away from this are for:

  • Using it late at night (whilst others are sleeping)
  • Using it in the early morning (whilst others are sleeping)
  • Or if you have sensitive hearing

As an example, I found at one stage that I had to ask others to use it for me. Now, this was only because I was suffering from “hyper-acute sensitivity” to loud sounds at the time.

(P.S. For anyone wondering what caused this, I’m more than sure that it was due to me taking NSAID’s shortly beforehand. I haven’t taken any since over a year ago now, and things are a lot better).

For most people’s hearing, there shouldn’t be a problem. And indeed, it hasn’t stopped thousands of people from enjoying it as a key part of their kitchen arsenal!

So the main point here is simply to use it during the day, or possibly seek an alternative if you must use it quite early or late.

Conclusion – Summary and Overall Verdict!

To summarise this NutriBullet Review, not only is the blender a great way to eat (or drink) healthily, but it is also cheap and effective. It gets the job done for those who like things simple!

I have personally had a great experience with this.

Despite the 2012 model not being the most powerful or quietest of blenders, it is nonetheless robust and can be used for most general purposes of newer blenders.

The big pros are that it does its job well, provides high value, and is ideal for most blending purposes.

All in all, to rate below a 9/10 wouldn’t feel fair to me. I’ve made great use of it for the price, and recommend the product for any healthy kitchen.

Is the NutriBullet good for You?

There are many benefits to using the NutriBullet 600 Series, as are there to the other models available. A blender is an easy way to make healthy recipes, including and most famously smoothies. The importance is in using the right ingredients – too much fruit and you’ll be loading in calories and sugar, for example.
